Welcome Back 5S

Welcome back to school for term four everyone!

It’s going to be a big term in Grade 5 with a lot of fantastic things to be done and to learn about. Our inquiry unit for this term is Social Harmony, focusing on leadership and the Australian Political System.

We are also involved in the Global Read Aloud where we are reading the text ‘The One and Only Ivan’. Also this term we re-commence our Summer Sports for inter-school sport.

It’s going to be a fantastic term in Grade 5!

Holiday Homework

As part of our term four Writing curriculum we will need all the students to collect some items from their holidays to use to assist their writing.

Items can include:

Digital and/or printed photos, movie tickets, holiday souvenirs, pamphlets, brochures etc

Best wishes to all the students in 5S and I hope they all have a happy and safe holiday break.

Footy Day

On Wednesday September 19th we celebrated our annual ‘Footy Day’ here at school. The students all came along dressed in their favourite footy team colours and completed football based activities. Everyone especially enjoyed the coin trail and also the staff vs students football game, that took place at lunchtime.

5S had a wonderful day!

Arbor Week

This week at school we’ve celebrated Arbor week. On Monday September 10th the 5S students went planting around the school with their buddies from 1D. Everyone did a fantastic job and the gardens around the school are looking great.

Special thanks to the students from the Junior Environment Council who helped us with the planting.

Out Of Uniform Day

On Thursday September 6th the Junior School Council will be folding a fundraiser for the Reach Foundation. Students will need to come to school dressed in their house colours and to also bring a gold coin donation.
